Warped Tour

The past two years I have taken my little sister Olivia to the Vans Warped Tour for her birthday.  She leaves to go hang with her friends and I wander around with my camera all day.  It has become one of my favorite things to photograph.  I don't know many of the bands and that is ok, I am more interested in all of the crazy people running around.  The piercings, the mohawks, the tattoos,  I love all of it!

Rock and Roll!

IPhone Thursday

This week iPhone Thursday is all about my favorite creature in the world, my beautiful dog, Cid.  He is the sweetest American Pit bull Terrier you will ever meet.  He has a giant head and an even bigger heart.  He is my protector, my companion, and my best friend.  I love this dog more than I can even put into words.  The past couple of months have been very hard.  Cid just turned 10 (or 11 we cant keep up) and he has a severe case of arthritis in his ankle.  He has a wobble when he walks and has a hard time getting around.  I get a giant lump in my throat just typing that.  He's tough, he is gonna make it through this. :)

These are some of my favorite iPhone pictures of Cid.

Fun Family Portraits

I met this family a couple of weeks ago for a fun photo session that ended with the kids getting soaking wet. :) It had rained all day, and I have to admit I was kinda excited.  I have been dying to do a shoot in the rain or at least right after a good rain.  The rain stopped just in time for our session and the light was amazing. I loved that there were giant puddles everywhere. What was even more exciting was when when Mom said it was OK for the kids to play in those puddles.  Fun, fun, fun! I have the best clients ever!

A look at what is coming up...

From playing in puddles, to playing golf, I have been photographing a little bit of everything over the past month.  Here is a little peak at what is coming up on my blog next week.

I photographed this little girl as well as her brother pictured below around my neighborhood.  The session ended with all of us getting soaking wet in a puddle. I am so happy I have such cool clients. :)   I chased this little girl around her grandparents farm in one of my favorite places in Kentucky. A friend of mine asked me to take pictures at a golf outing his family hosts every year.  It ended with largest bonfire I have ever seen.  Yes I know I have said that before, but this one topped the last one by about 30 feet,  it was HUGE!!

I love this picture, classic.

I shared a few of my iPhone pictures from the Warped Tour yesterday, but they are nothing compared to these.  The Warped Tour is one of my favorite things to photograph.  I love all the craziness!!!  The rain just added to the fun!

Boys will be boys!

I had the pleasure of hanging out with this family a few weeks ago at Devou Park.  It was so much fun!  A few sticks and a golf course to race on is all these boys needed for a good time :)

I love this one. :) In this picture we saw a squirrel run up a tree.   The boys started yelling, Alvin, Simon, Theodore.

How cute! And the winner is...

iPhone Thursday

Happy iPhone Thursday!

I have tons of  great ideas for  iPhone Thursday.   I would like to do themed posts and maybe feature some of your favorite mobile phone photos that you have taken. Right now I am knee deep in my first real wedding season so it  might take a little while to pull it all together. :) For now we will keep it random. Here are a couple Dave took of me yesterday.  I had fun processing these!

The next photo is a great example of why having an iPhone rocks.  It is always with you! Both of these were taken on my way to the suburbs to see my sister.  The sky is always amazing there.   Another one of Spring Grove's beauties. :)

Amsterdam

Today is my favorite day of the year, it's my birthday!

Since I am talking about my favorite's today I am going to share some pictures of one of my favorite cities, Amsterdam.  We visited there a couple of times a few years ago.  It is a beautiful little city full of character and charm as well as characters and charmers.  Very few people drive, almost everyone rides a bike.  The women are tall and beautiful and they all have great style.  The Dutch are known to be very liberal with a do unto others kind of attitude.  I like it.  Things seemed pretty orderly to me.  It was so great that almost everyone spoke English, but it was also cool to walk down the street and hear five different languages.  We had a blast.  Leisure time is not taken lightly and we took advantage of that.  I cannot wait to go back! :) This is our view from our bedroom.  We stayed in the same apartment both times we went.   It was strange to see one of these... amongst all of these. Yes,  sex is everywhere.      Amsterdam is full of surprises around every corner. How about a pirate  pealing an orange in front of the gay cinema, okay, I'll take it. :)   This part of the city was destroyed during WWII so the architecture is more modern.

Their version of a our mini van. Unfortunately all I saw were wooden tulips.  We were a few weeks away from tulip season. :(
