Robin and Jeff's Cincinnati Art Museum Wedding

I love every wedding I get the opportunity to photograph.  There is something so special about being around two people in love.  I love seeing all of the emotion and how happy people are together.  Robin and Jeff  are at the top of my list of favorite couple's ever.  They are the most generous, gracious, laid back people you will ever meet.  Together I just know they are going to be unstoppable.  The chemistry between these two is infectious.  All of the vendors involved in the wedding were smiling and singing their praises all night.  It is because of people like Robin and Jeff that we love what we do.

Their gorgeous wedding was held at the Cincinnati Art Museum.  I love that we were able to incorporate some of the museum's art into their pictures.  Robin was the ultimate DIY bride.  She made everything from her button bouquet (which was unlike anything I have ever seen), to the cupcake stand and menus.  Instead of flowers her bridesmaids carried letters   that spelled out Jeff and Robin's last name, how cute!   She put a lot of work into her wedding and because of that her wedding was unique and personal.  My favorite kind of wedding to photograph. :)

Robin and Jeff I can't thank you enough for choosing me to be your photographer and allowing me to spend this special day with you.  xoxo

Tiffany and Andy's Kentucky Wedding

You might remember these two from their engagement session I posted here.  Tiffany and Andy were married last month in front of their closest friends and family.  It was a gorgeous day full of lots of love and lots of emotion.  Tiffany was such a pretty bride and Andy was on of the proudest grooms I have ever seen. I had so much fun at this wedding.  Thanks for having me Tiffany and Andy!

Beautiful Music Inspired Boudoir NSFW

A crazy, psychedelic, rock and roll, fantasy dream is the best way  I can describe this kick-ass shoot I had with my good friend/model Casey and her amazing and talented make up artist Christine Rice.  Inspired by 60's and 70's music and the feel of old album covers,  I wanted this shoot to be wild and hot.  Casey was so awesome!   She got my vision completely and dug out some amazing pieces from her own wardrobe.

See the 70's inspired wedding shoot I did with Casey a few months ago here.

We started the day out in my car jamming The Doors which inspired a heated discussion between the three of us about  how hot Jim Morrison was.   After about a 20 minute ride we arrived at the location I picked out for the shoot, a field of wild flowers in KY, my favorite place to be.  He we are, 3 girls on a long gravel road in the middle of nowhere, clothes and cameras everywhere, Casey half naked and here come the police. Shit! You should have seen the look on their faces, priceless. :) Thanks to Casey's power of seduction they were super cool about letting us stay and shoot.  How could they say no, right?

We gathered our thoughts and gear and ran into the middle of this amazing field squealing and laughing like little girls.  We were all so excited.  We set up this shoot for nothing but fun and that is exactly what it was.  The sun was low and gorgeous. Casey had a cocktail and was ready to party.  Christine was beside me holding my cameras(thanks Christine) and making sure Casey looked amazing.  I was just trying to take it all in without losing my mind.  We lost a camera (which we later found), a cup of vodka, and a pair of killer sunglasses.  We were covered in bug bites and burs.

Inspiration was running so thick I had to remind myself to breathe.  There is a point in my creative process where I sorta loose control.  I love when it happens.  I let go of fear and  things begin to happen naturally, it's freedom.  Casey totally inspired me to push myself farther that I could have imagined with these. She became my muse and we fed off of each other instinctively.  Over exposed, under exposed, out of focus, smokey sun flare, it was magic I tell you, magic.

****this post contains some artistic nudity, Casey's cool with it, I am cool with it, but If you are not cool with it you might want to turn around now****

Brandie and Nate Cincinnati French Park Wedding

You might remember Brandie and Nate from their Mt. Adams engagement session I posted a few months ago.  These two are so much fun to be around.  They had one of the most beautiful weddings I have seen at gorgeous French Park.  Brandie was the ultimate DIY/Etsy bride.  There were so many amazing details that made this wedding unique.  I think my favorite was the vases she made for her centerpieces covering them vintage table clothes and curtains she found at local thrift stores, oh and of course the peacock feathers everywhere, you know I loved those!  It was one of the hottest days of the year, but that didn't stop anyone from having a wonderful time.  Brandie and Nate, thank you so much for allowing me to share in this very special time in your lives, I had a great time at your wedding!

Her dress from Bridal and Formal was so, so pretty!  Ok so we all  know I love unique bouquets, I think this one is my favorite to date.  So delicate and  pretty.  She got it from Croska on Etsy. This was my first experience with Funky's Catering.  I was blown away, the food was delicious and their staff was very professional.  It was a pleasure working with them. The gorgeous flowers are by Robin Wood.  I love the colors Brandie chose.Brandie is so creative.  Other Vendors My Assistant Natasha Loos DJ Maize Music Cake Artrageous Desserts Planner Tracey Reece Officiant Paul Ravenscraft Hair and Makeup Mitchell's Salon

Kelly and Justin's Historic Covington Engagement

Last weekend I had the pleasure of hanging out with Kelly and Justin in historic Covington for their very special engagement session.  I had a blast getting to know them.  They are so laid back and cool.  I am so excited for their wedding next year at Moonlite Gardens! I have been dying to do a wedding there. ;)  Thanks for the amazing day Kelly and Justin!

Katie and Chris Keeneland Engagement Session

Last week I drove to Lexington for this special engagement session at Keeneland.  These two were so awesome to be around.  Katie is full of so much energy and Chris loves to sit back and watch her go. :) They balance each other out perfectly.  Chris is a firefighter in Lexington and Katie is a designer whose company Kavatee, which she started with a a friend from Design School, is launching a really  awesome new product, the Neckalina this Friday.  See their feature on Cincy Chic. Katie is wearing a necklace from the collection in these photos. It is too cute!  I adore the vintage dress she picked up on Etsy too.

Katie and Chris, I am so excited for your wedding at the Cincinnati Art Museum later this year! Thanks for choosing me to be part of it. :)

Tiffany and Andy's Kentucky Engagement

I love to hear the stories about how my clients met. Tiffany and Andy were set up by a friend.  They both went out of their comfort zones and decided to meet on a blind date.  They have been together ever since. I love that.  They took a risk on love and it totally paid off.  Andy proposed to Tiffany a few years later in one of their favorite cities, Nashville.

I am very excited about their wedding next month.  I grew up in the same town as Tiffany and I absolutely adore her family.  I cant wait to catch up with them at the wedding!

Candice and Chris Cincinnati Riverboat Wedding

Candice and Chris were married on the B&B Riverboat, The Belle of Cincinnati in front of their dearest friends and family.  They had originally planned a destination wedding in Florida, but their sweet little girl Sophia came down with a sudden illness that required them to stay close to home so that she could get treatment.  Their journey has been tough, but these two are strong and the love they have for each other and their family is where they get their strength.

It was one of those super hot days we had in July, and as soon as I met up with Candice and Chris of course it started to rain, like major downpour rain.  I am not going to lie, I was a little nervous.  Throughout the past year and a half that  I have been shooting weddings, I have yet to have a rainy day wedding.  Not only were we planning on shooting their portraits outside, but the location on the boat where they were to be married was on top of a boat with no shelter.  Candice and Chris weren't phased by the rain and we decided to go ahead and drive to the location and hope for the best.  That's when the magic happened. After driving for about 10 minutes, clear skies, dry grass, perfect weather. Candice looked amazing in her Nicole Miller dress. This is their sweet Sophia with her Grandpa. Have I ever mentioned  how much I adore Marti of Marti's Floral Designs?  Because of their change of plans, Candice had to do a lot of last minute planning.  She contacted Marti about a week before the wedding about putting together bouquets and boutonnieres for the wedding party.  In the wedding world July is BUSY! It is hard to squeeze in time for yourself let alone last minute clients.  Marti was so understanding, she went out of her way to create these spectacular flowers for Candice and Chris.  They were perfect.  A polaroid of the couple. :) Ok I am going to go ahead and declare this the best cake I have ever had at a wedding, period.  Ahhh I remember some kind of lemon filling, it was to die for.  Chris' aunt,  Moe Thie is head of the Bakery Hill cake department at Midwest Culinary Institute.  She created this amazing cake for the couple.  After the wedding and dinner cruise we took the party to the landing for drinks and dancing. It was so much fun I ended up staying 2 hours past my scheduled time.  Highlight of the night...breaking it down on the dance floor with Candice's Dad to Salt and Peppa. Epic night!
