Raven's Senior Portraits

Raven is one of the most creative, kind hearted young spirits I know.  For her senior pictures she wanted to do something different.  She told me she wanted her pictures to be " super trippy,  late 60s dreamy".  My heart could explode when I get these kinds of requests.  I interpret that into trust your gut and make some art.  She was a beautiful muse to create with.  I brought lots os film and all of my magic cameras.  Here are a few of my favorites from the day.  Raven is amazing with her hoop.  I have been obsessed with the videos she posts on social media.  What a beautiful form of expression!  We had to include it in her pictures. I have been experimenting with a lot of different film lately.  I love the look of this one.We snuck in a couple of polaroids on Impossible Project film.

Louisville Family Portraits

Are you ready for some serious cuteness?  Chris and I drove down to Louisville this week to take pictures of our friend Cole and his new family.  It was my first time meeting Mary, Cole's wife,  I adored her from the first minute we walked in their home.  She greeted me with a big hug and huge smile.  I felt like I have known her forever.  They showed us one of their favorite spots downtown where we spent some time taking relaxed pictures.  After that Mary's parents cooked an amazing dinner for us.  We got to experience southern hospitality at it's finest.  It was a wonderful day full of so many laughs.  We are very lucky to have such beautiful people in our lives.

Alright, now onto the pictures, because their little guy Max will bring a smile to anyone's face, this little dude is the cutest.

Jessica and Jon's Cincinnati Engagement

I was thrilled to meet Jessica and Jon downtown for their wintery engagement session a couple of weeks ago.  We started at Rhinegeist where they had a couple of drinks to warm up a bit before we went outside for a few pictures.  I enjoyed their dynamic.  These two are a perfect balance for each other.  The most important thing they did throughout the entire session was laugh.  It was such a pleasure to photograph.  I am very excited to see them and their family when it warms up this summer at their wedding.

Becca and Greg Dallas Texas Portraits

You might remember Becca Greg from their Jackson, Ohio wedding I photographed last year.  Soon after they married they transferred to Dallas, Texas.  I was in Texas last week visiting family, so I caught up with Becca and Greg to do a mini session with their little fur baby Bella.  It was really nice hearing about their new life in Texas.  Im not gonna lie, that weather was nothing to complain about either. 7o and sunny in Feburary, take me back please.

Ashely and John's Bell Event Centre Wedding

Their story is one of the best one's I have heard.   John was with a friend who was involved in a small fender bender with Ashley.  He thought she was gorgeous so he asked for her number.  After dating for awhile John took a job in sunny California and Ashley soon followed him there.  Fast forward to now, they are happily married enjoying way better weather than us here in Cincinnati. :)

Their wedding day was one of those rainy fall days we had last month.  I was determined to make sure Ashley and John enjoyed the day without stress so I came up with some unique ideas for pictures.  As I was driving I noticed it was dry under the bridges, and we have plenty in this city, so that is where I took them for some of their pictures.  Everything turned out perfectly.  They had their ceremony and super fun reception at the Bell Event Centre, one of my favorite venues in the city.  The staff always knocks it out of the park with their stellar teamwork and attentiveness.  It was really great celebrating with John and Ashley, what a great end to my wedding season this year! A very unique, and sweet first look. 

Brent and Darcy's Over-the-Rhine Engagement

If you have visited The Famous Neon's Unplugged in OTR you probably know Brent.  Whenever I see him he has a big smile on his face.  He is the guy who will always help a friend in need, and can probably build or fix  just about anything.  I have known him for many years, from what I know of him, he is usually pretty serious.  During his engagement session with Darcy, his beautiful fiancé he met on a slow, snowy night at Neon's, I saw the fun loving side of Brent.  These two have fun together, they laugh and laugh and laugh...they truly enjoy being around each other and it shows.  It was a pleasure to experience and capture that love.

Since Neon's was where they met, and we were in the neighborhood, we stopped by for a drink and a couple of pictures. 

Tara's Senior Pictures

What a great day I had hanging out with this beautiful girl!  Tara wanted something unique and fun for her senior portraits.  Anyone who knows me knows I love to hear that, so we ran around Covington chasing light and color.  I love the way these turned out.  Thank you so much for choosing me to be your photographer, Tara.  I can't wait to share the rest with you.

Katie and Josh's Fall Engagement Session

This was one of my favorite engagement sessions.  When we were thinking of ideas for Katie and Josh I decided based on their personalities, we should go somewhere that was fun.  They laugh a lot together, so I knew getting good intimate pictures would be easy wherever we went.  I have always loved McGlasson Farm on Route 8.  It is so pretty there year round especially during the fall. We decided to go there after spending a little time at Molly Malone's where Katie and Josh met.   After a couple of drinks at the bar, we headed to the farm.  It was a laid back day.  Everything fell together perfectly.  I was glad to spend so much time with these two.  We have a lot in common, they are super laid back and so much fun!  I can't wait for their wedding next year. On a whim I asked them if they wanted to take a ride across the river on the Anderson Ferry since it was on the way back.  We got out and grabbed some pictures, I love the way these turned out.  That sky was amazing!! 

Kate and Erik's Cincinnati Wedding

Kate and Erik had a classic wedding in downtown Cincinnati.  It was one of those amazing fall days when the weather and light gods were on our side.  What sticks out most  about these two is just how well they compliment each other.  They find comfort in each other, something I adore in a couple.  I spent the day with Kate while she got ready with her girls.  Though she didn't seem to be very nervous, I could see a huge sense of relief and happiness come over her when she saw Erik for the first time.  It was awesome to witness.  As we spent a large part of the afternoon taking pictures these two got to enjoy each other and savor every minute.Kate was a stunning bride. I absolutely love when couples do a first look.  It is such a special moment, and it allows for lots of alone time during the day. Ahh this moment is it.  The first embrace alone after becoming husband and wife.  I love when I am able to capture it. After the ceremony we headed to Eden Park for a quick toast with the bridal party.  Kate had some fans. :) The Bell Event Centre is always so spectacular.
