I was recently commisioned by Deana to create images to help her celebrate her Birthday, which is today! Lately, I have been thinking about the photography and the role it plays in people’s lives. We can capture everything with our phone, some new phones are better than my camera. I am grateful for that, I use mine for photos of my son all of the time. But, there is something else that happens when you are truly seen by another person. I can’t explain what it is, but when it happens it feels like magic. I realize my job is not essential, but I do believe it is important. Though it might feel like the world is falling apart some days, we still deserve to be able to experience happiness and to love ourselves. It is my extreme pleasure to provide space for people to do that.
