Amber and Bryan Cincinnati Wedding Photographer

It wasn't the venue or the vows or how beautiful Amber was.  It wasn't the dress or the (really cute) shoes or the that the sky was the perfect shade of blue. What I will remember most about Amber and Bryan's wedding is that they are two of the kindest people I have been lucky enough to be around.  Photographing their wedding was a far more than an honor, it was a gift.

These two are meant for each other.  Being around this kind of love feels good.  It was the way they could not stop looking at one another like no one else was there.  While they stared into each other's eyes with tearful smiles, I saw pure affection and devotion,  compassion and happiness.  This is what love looks like.

Amber and Bryan, you are why I love what I do.

I started the day with Amber getting ready.

Gorgeous! All of the girls were so nice. The first look. Amber's flowers were arranged by Case's Golden Leaf Florist.  I just love a sweetheart neckline, so feminine. They got married at St. Joe's Church in Cold Springs. The white rose represents Bryan's grandmother.  It was placed next to Bryan's mother to represent where she would have been sitting. What a great looking couple! :) My favorite!

Is it weird that I sometimes go to the cemetery to clear my head?  Hanging out with the spirits can be pretty peaceful, and quiet too.  Besides that, here in Cincinnati we have one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the country, Spring Grove Cemetery.

Spring Grove consists of  733 acres of gorgeous landscape surrounded by  12 ponds, beautiful flowers and trees, wildlife, and tons of  breathtaking gravestones and mausoleums.  I don't mind that I get lost almost every time I am there,  I always run into something new to fall in love with.  When I was reading about Spring Grove's history I found out that many generals from the civil war are buried there, as well as 3 state governors and also the guy who gave us the honey dew melon, pretty cool.

BTW today has been declared by someone as World Photography Day. Go celebrate by taking a picture of something that catches your eye.  If you don't have a camera, use the camera on your phone. :)

Steamy Love Session

My inspiration for this shoot came from a romance novel I picked up at a used book store.  The cover photo is very dramatic and sexy, full of lust and intrigue.  I thought it would be fun to do a love session that would represent what I think a modern day romance novel should look like.  Leah and Derek were the perfect couple for this shoot, I cannot thank them enough for being such awesome models.  They are both super hot, and they were not shy about getting all steamy in front of my camera.

These photos are Hot! ;)

My Treasures

I have been a thrift store junkie since high school.  When most girls were at the mall  buying cute dresses my friends and I were at the local thrift store looking for cool "old man" sweaters and flannels.  I take thrifting very serious.  It is more than a hobby, to me, it is a passion. It isn't really the thrill of the deal that gets me.  It is the nostalgia, being able to peak into the past.  It's like taking a ride in a time machine.  Who knows what artifacts you will collect on your journey.

This past weekend the world's longest yard sale went straight through my back yard.  I swear it was like the biggest flea market I have ever seen.  I was in heaven.  I got so much cool stuff including this album for $5. ( I also got a Cheech and Chong album for $3,  but it didn't go with my outfit)

I can officially say I have purchased Pink Floyd's Darkside of the Moon on tape, on CD, on iTunes, and the album (twice). :)

Family Session on a Farm

Jennifer contacted me a few months ago about setting up this very special family session.  She has had a very tough year in and out of the hospital with a blood disease that has changed her life dramatically.  She has fought hard, with the support of her loving family and friends she is home feeling better.  This photo session is her way of celebrating her life and her family. I am so happy to be part of it! :)

We did the session at Jennifer's parents house, which happens to be on a glorious farm in Kenton County.  Jennifer, her husband Chris and her daughter Avery showed me around the farm while I snapped pictures of them.  This farm has what every great farm should have, cows, roosters, an orchard,  a huge barn, and lots of dogs protecting the place.  Ahhhh... my dream house for sure!
